Free today. Honest about tomorrow.

Everything RunWhatIfs does right now is free — the whole app. A paid tier, Plus, is coming, and two candidate shapes are on the table. Joining a waitlist is a vote: the list people actually join is the Plus that gets built.

Free

Everything the app does today.

$0

  • Monthly check-ins, streaks, and the AI money journal
  • Free CSV import of your spreadsheet history
  • JSON export of everything — free forever
Candidate A · not built yet

Plus

The monthly ritual, deeper.

$5 / month

  • Ask about your numbers — on-demand AI Q&A over your own data, same no-advice rules as the journal

  • CSV export of your full history
  • Everything in Free, and you keep the lights on without ads or data sales

One email when Plus launches — nothing else, ever.

Candidate B · not built yet

Plus Projections

What a spreadsheet can't do: your history, projected forward.

$59 / year

  • Multi-year projection bands built on your full imported history
  • Save what-if plans and compare stacked scenarios side by side
  • Deep history charts and a year-in-review archive of your money
  • Everything in Free, and you keep the lights on without ads or data sales

One email when Plus launches — nothing else, ever.

Both lists are real, and you can join both. Nothing is charged, no card is asked for — a waitlist signup is just the clearest signal you can send about what's worth building.

No ads

Ever. Incompatible with a calm money tool.

No data sales

Your numbers are not the product.

No bank logins

Nothing to breach, nothing to monetize.

Free export

The JSON export stays free forever.

The honest answers

How is RunWhatIfs free right now?
Because it's small and runs cheap — and because the usual ways a free finance app pays for itself are permanently off the table here: no ads, no selling or sharing your data, no bank credentials to monetize. The long-term plan is simple and boring: a paid tier for the people who want more depth. This page is that plan, in public.
Why show prices for something that doesn't exist yet?
Two reasons. First, “how is this free?” deserves a straight answer from a finance app that asks for your trust — this is the business model, shown before it exists. Second, we genuinely haven't decided which shape Plus should take, so instead of guessing, we're asking: each waitlist is a vote, and the one people actually join is the one that gets built.
What stays free forever?
Your way out, above all: the JSON export of everything you've entered stays free forever — your data is never held hostage behind a paywall. The free tier stays generous too: the monthly check-in habit is the whole point of the product, and it will never cost money to keep it up.
